Super Powered Miso Broth

This simple broth is packed with nutrients, protein, probiotics and anti-inflammatory properties.  It is a winning combo for omnivores and vegetarians alike.

Time: 5 minutes


  • 1 cup spinach or mixed greens
  • 1 ½ cups hot water
  • 1 TBSP hemp seeds
  • 1 TBSP miso (traditionally fermented refrigerated miso)
  • ½ inch fresh ginger root (peeled)
  • Optional:  a small piece of turmeric root or a ½ tsp. turmeric powder


Heat water.  Add all ingredients to a high speed ventilated blender.  I add the miso last to give the water time to cool a bit so it does not break down the miso’s delicate properties.  Blend, pour, drink, and enjoy.
